Default Tunnel Gun

I know not everyone on here is a member of the SWCA so I just have to mention the article in the SWCA magazine that I just read about the .44 Magnum tunnel gun, developed for "tunnel rats" in Vietnam. It was well written, great pictures, and ever so interesting. If you have not seen that story see if you can find something about this gun on-line. Wait.....

It's been discussed before.

Just ever so doggone cool!!!!

I saw this weapon demonstrated at Ft. Bragg some time between 1971 and 1973, probably 1971, at a symposium and demonstration of special weapons being developed for use in VN. As I recall, there was almost no noise, as the propellant gasses were contained in the cartridge case and the projectiles were sub-sonic. I never knew what the final outcome of the weapon was until reading about it in the S&WCA Journal. ,,

Ditto on Kevin's question. Some of us would be very interested in hearing about other armaments displayed at the 1971 Bragg demo.

I don't really remember the other stuff. There were all sorts of firing demos and static displays, and the whole thing was done out on one of the artillery firing ranges. I recalled the Tunnel Gun because it was a S&W and even back then I was a S&W fan.
