Default Factory letter back for Nickel Baby Chief

I sent for this letter to verify that this Baby Chief Special was in fact factory. It was about a 3 month wait but worth it. It turns out is is original. That put a smile on my face Roy. Roy also said that there were 10 units sent to this place in NY, NY. I assume from the letter that he means 10 Nickel units.

The stocks also number to the gun.. that is not the original box however.

That is correct..I have still not acquired that elusive 1950 half moon sight example. But that's what makes this fun. The hunt!
I have a ramped non serrated and a few serrated Baby Chiefs...the SWCA Convention is just around the corner...

Good looking flat latch. Only 9 more to find in nickle from that shipment....

I have a blue one from 1/51 that is also the serated ramp large trigger guard. Mine is 2296X. Wonder how many nickle half moon, and or smooth ramps are out there?
It's all about the hunt for sure.

Mike,
Nice gun! Yes, your letter states that all 10 were in the same configuration.

Well I thought 3 but I wrote the check 12/27 and it was cashed 1/8.
If you go by the cashed checked date it was 3 months 1 week.
If by the day sent it was 3.5 months...so that's about right. 2 weeks shy of 4 months. I do know I was checking the mail the last 2 weeks especially for the letter as I thought it was about due...think 3 months. Either way they are nice for things like this that verify a gun was shipped in a certain configuration when it matters in resale.

That is a great example of a very desirable gun on top of which, being shipped in 1953, it would be a birth year gun for me. I jealous. Congratulations.
