Default A K-22 Outdoorsman followed me home today

Found this 1st Model Outdoorsman at a local gun show today.

It came with the stags that are on it. My "stag" collection is growing!

I really wish it had the original grips.

Overall, pretty nice looking with a little bit of muzzle wear.

Does anyone have a guess as to ship date? s/n 657707..... 1935??

I'd say 1935-36.

You may want to find some correct stocks but the ones you have look very good!

My K-22 Outdoorsman s/n 654997 shipped in December 1935 . . . but I see several in the 657XXX range that shipped in August and September of 1936.

Very nice Outdoorsman with an especially nice pair of stags!

Linda:

I too like it better with the wood stocks. For reference 657768 and 657844 both shipped in September 1936.

Congrats - one of my favorite S&Ws.

Nice find Linda - congrats!
Those vintage stags looked great on that gun, but nothing beats a "correct" set of stocks.
But either way, that K22 looks great!

Hi Linda,
Beautiful gun! Thanks for sharing. I'm going to have to start looking at Smiths from the 30's. How did you get it to stand up like that. Did you photoshop the stand out and lay in shadows?

Chris

Chris, I tried all my prop tricks but then realized the gun could stand all by itself. Both the stag and wood grips are flat enough to keep the gun upright. I lightened the pic a bit so the background would be a little lighter. High polish guns can be tricky... You just have to watch the reflections and reshoot if necessary.

Great condition for a roughly 78 year old gun. They are great to shoot

Nice find indeed! Great photograghy too! What a flash from the past. Stag grips were the cool personification back then.
