I have a case 38 masterpiece target serial number 17 to 0 53 I'm looking to date this pistol

The serial number found on the butt of the grip frame is the one we'll need to date your K-38 Masterpiece . . . pictures would also help us provide you additional insights.

I think that he's trying to say 172053 which would date to about 1952 or 52.
