NEW member here, wanting to find out about this revolver. Just "inherited" what I believe to be an M&P from, probably, the 40s or 50s. It is a 5 screw, double action revolver with a 5" barrel and 38 S&W caliber. The serial # is 943007 as far as I can tell, they are sort of fuzzy even with 2 pair of glasses on my nose. The curious part is that it has, on the left side of the barrel and the left side of the frame forward of the cylinder, the words "not english make (or made, the letters are very small)". Could this be from the pistols that were made for the British during WWII? Learned of that from this web site! Sorry I do not have a photo as I do not have a digital camera. Would this increase the collectability of this firearm? I will probably hold on to it as I have every firearm that I have ever aquired and it came from an important friend of the family!
