Default 1917 Serial Numbers?

I'm not an astute collector but an accumulator of arms I "need" or admire. I have Remington 600s, Savage 99s etc. I am wondering who has a serial /date listing for the 1917 Brazillian contract guns? The registers I have seen only appeared to list the American Military numbers. Please educate me. Thanks in advance and I do enjoy this forum. Lots of knowledge here. Packy

Packy,
Hang around for a bit and you will learn things about this revolver, other revolvers, cars, houses food and many other thinkgs you didn't know you needed to learn about. With the forum just transitioning to this new software provider, it may take a bit for all of the members with their wealth of knowledge to get to posting. When they come around, you should get some good answers to your questions.

Take care and welcome,
Bill

Thumbs up Some Information

"The serial numbers of the guns sent to Brazil are mixed ranging from 1 to 210,000." (Roy Jinks)

First Brazilian Contract Group, shipped beginning in 1938,
serial number range
... 181983 to 207043

Second Brazilian Contract Group, shipped beginning in 1946,
two serial number ranges
... 166,000 to 175150
... 207,196 to 209878

The above is approximate; note that I have a Brazilian with the serial number 165xxx, which is outside the '38 and '46 ranges.
Roy's letter says mine was shipped in 1946.

This information was gleaned from:
1. A couple of Roy Jinks letters in my possession
2. The SCS&W by Supica & Nahas (see pages 163-165).

Hope this helps.
