Have an opportunity to buy this one and am not quite sure exactly what it is. 32 Kit gun perhaps? Right side of the barrel says " 32Long CTG"
serial number is 358391 on the bottom of the grip. Same number on the cylinder. Inside the yoke where the model would be is 87197. A bit of freckling on the nickle. The original box of ammo that was bought with the gun is minus about 15 rounds. Oh, the patents on the rib are 1906, 09 and 1914.

Well, you only gave us 32 minutes to respond, but you figured it out .

Look for a penciled or stamped SN on the inside of the right stock panel; if it matches the gun it dates it between 1920 and 1930.

Yes, the right grip panel has the matching SN written in pencil. Thanks Murph. Any ideas as to a fair price? I can buy it for dirt cheap from a cousin who is desperate for money, but I don't really need it. I just don't wanna take advantage of him. Might take it to the gunshow in Robertsdale AL. today and see if there is any interest.

It looks nicer than average for a gun of its vintage (many have pitting/flaked nickel/rust/corroded bores from corrosive ammo). I would guess easily $250 or so for a private party sale. Shouldn't you buy it from your cousin at a fair price?

I may do that. Just wanna make sure I treat him fairly. Last night could have paid less than half the number you postedbut that wouldn't be right.

It dates from before 1922 since no one line Made in USA on lower right frame. I have a couple from mid-1920...a Regulation Police that was my grandfathers and a .32 HE like the one you picture...except in blue with a 3-1/2" barrel. I would think you could get $300 for it from someone who is looking for an old .32, but they aren't real popular right now. If you were closer, I would at least like to look at it.
