I gave $130 for this non matching gun serial number 308830 (thinking early 1920's)and what you see it needs side plate screws and thumb piece nut used used the screws out of my British model to test it shoots fine timing and lock up are amazingly good despite mismatched crane and cylinder. The other gun is a Argentine made copy he gave that one to me.

Great rescue! I think the barrel shaped ejector rod knob dates it to the latter 20s but will see what the book worms say about the serial number.

What is the serial number on the 2" barrel? That could make an interesting project.

Try out the Argentine snub. In my limited experience unaltered military surplus Argentine 1927 and Ballistar Molina .45 ACPs group tighter and are more reliable than series 70 and 80 Colt 1911s. They have zero prestige but they shoot. I don't recognize the Argentine .38 but it might shoot very well.

The serial number on the 2 inch barrel is V446322 so it came off a victory as did the extra cylinder. The Argentine needs a few screws for side plate and plunger, spring and screw for cylinder stop. I should be able to make something work even if i have to retap holes zero collector value on that one anyway.

"The serial number on the 2 inch barrel is V446322..."

Does this barrel have a ejector rod lug on the underside?

Yes it does. It is shown in about the 3 o'clock position in the photo above has a ramp sight no markings present on it save serial number.
