Grips can make all the difference...
I bought this .38-44 OD knowing the grips were entirely wrong...Roy dated the oldtimer as having shipped 11/1939...In looking around for some originals, Bigmtnman advertised a a set of elk stags that I thought would look great on this gun...So I snagged them...The gun is pictured below along with the grips that I took off...It's strapped awaiting it's next display opportunity...
If it's true that clothes can make the man, then surely grips can make the gun...As always, I'm pleased as punch with Ken's craftsmanship... ...Ben

Looks like my kinda package. Now put an original Tyler on it and you'll shoot like the experts.

As late as it is, your revolver probably shipped with pre war magnas. Probably the most expensive stocks you can buy. I have a 1940 vintage 38-44 Outdoorsman and it letters with magna's. It also letters with a Humpback Hammer with the concentric circles like the RM's have. The set you took off is very pretty. For sale? Big Larry

I have to say those stocks certainly make your revolver look the part. Very nice. Take that zip tie off, your cramping his style. 😎

That's a real beauty!
I have yet to find an N-Frame of the pre-war period.
From 1927-1973 is a void that needs to be filled! Heh heh heh
I like the contrast of the grips to the bluing... Very nice, indeed!

Man you tie them up tight. We hillbillies often put the strap on backwards so they can be reused or removed easily.

Very nice upgrade!!
I have been known to put elk or sambar on a few of my 38/44 ODs
I do not care to shoot with these on in the summer as the sweat from my hand makes them slippery
