.45 Hand Ejector AKA Model 1917
This is S&W M1917 that I recently won at auction. It replaces a much less nice half parkerized, half blue AA rebuild. Enjoy, and any comments welcome

It locks up tight and I have some full moon clips. I'll have to give it a try.

Do you know it can be shot without moonclips? The cylinder is designed so the gun will work either way. The extractor will not remove the brass. Just poke it out with a pencil. Enjoy the revolver. Mine is one of my favorite shooters. It's really cool to shoot a piece of history.

They are cool guns. I have two not far from yours. One is a 55,xxx and the other a 59,xxx. If you wish to remove the surface rust, try 0000 copper or brass wool and oil and then denatured alcohol to remove the oil and then apply a coat of Renaissance wax. She will shine and be impervious to finger print damage and rust. 
PS: Rub gently as you are only looking to remove the surface rust and not any finish.

My brass just drops out of the cylinder for most chambers or can be flicked out with a fingernail. Much more convenient than hassling with moon clips, IMO.
