Default Help identifying 2 revolvers

Hello,
I just received something that I consider pretty special-a concealed weapons permit issued to my dad issued in 1954. The 38 Special is still in the family but the K22 was either stolen or misplaced several years ago. Anyway, I would like help with either the manufacture or shipping date.
The serial number on the 38 is S8508x
The number on the K22 is K6121x
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

Are you sure that S8508x is correct, and the gun is marked on the barrel as ".38 S&W Special CTG"? If so, what you have is likely to be an N-frame .38/44 Heavy Duty (if it has fixed sights) or .38/44 Outdoorsman (if it has adjustable sights) which would have shipped around 1952. Does it look anything like this one (which is about the same age)? What is the barrel length?

If so, and if in high condition, it would be quite desirable.

The K-22 Masterpiece would be from about 1949, and could also be quite desirable if you still had it, or find it.

Please post some pictures of the .38 if available

Thanks for the quick response. I'm pretty sure the 38 has a six inch barrel and I don't have ready access to it but I might be able to get my nephew to take some photos and I will post them here. My recollection is that it looks very similar to the photo you posted except for the barrel length.
