I am requesting help with the date of manufacture on my hand ejector M&P .38 special. It has a 6 inch barrel and 5 screws. It also has fixed sites and square butt. The serial number has no letter prefix and is found on the butt and barrel. Serial number 374xxx. I think it is from maybe the 1920-1930 range. Any help?

Your M&P with SN 374xxx would likely have shipped from the factory sometime during early 1921 based upon shipping dates of nearby M&P serial numbers on my list. Manufacture would have been at a slightly earlier time, perhaps late 1920.
