Roper grips / What years in business?
What years could you buy/order Roper grips for your Smith&Wesson revolver?

I'm not sure if you are asking from the factory or anywhere ?
A few years ago I found an article and I believe Mr. Gagne was making them quite awhile longer than many had thought.

Did this book and article provide enough info to answer this interesting question? Someone here should know this.

The Roper design stock as made by Mathias Gagne was available from mid 30s to early 50s. Walter Roper died in 1954, Gagne I think followed in 56. Mathias Gagne was still making the Roper stocks at least into 1952. There was an article written in the May 1952 United States Revolver Association journal showing an elderly Mr. Gagne making stocks. An article on Roper and Gagne was written by forum member Kevin Williams and published in the S&WCA Journal, this article is the most complete record to date of the Roper stocks and business partnership between the two men.
