Default 208

I've been chasing this one now for 3yrs, ever since I learned it resided in the next town over. Not to mention the owner bought it from a LGS 1/2 mile from my house.

The money shot ...

All original, grips and box number to the gun. Came with the correct SAT and a cleaning rod, which i'm not sure of.

The previous owner collects smith 22's and I called to tell him about another 3 digit K22, K679 I had received that morning. He said my offer from a yr ago was tempting and we ended up cutting a deal on K208 that same day.

That's an awesome example. Was the cleaning rod a blued one?

The whole length was a twisted wire with brush on one end and a finger loop on the other. Doubt it came with the gun, althought I don't think I have ever seen an original from 1947.

I'm no expert but the last one I had like that came with a Colt. I don't know if it was original to that gun either.

Very nice. Not sure about the cleaning rod but have seen that style on several occasions. Unfortunately I suffer from CRS and it really shows its ugly head with S&W's because there is so much to remember.

Not lettered, but on good authority from a couple members that this one shipped 2-13-47 to Barker & Jennings, Lynchburg Va.

That sounds like the cleaning rods that came with the Registered Magnums. They were wrapped in a paper tube.

Charlie, that's great. I don't have a high interest in collectable revolvers, but I sure could make an exception for a package like that one. Enjoy it. Fred

Since serial number K22 does not exist I found the next best thing. Shipped Feb. 1947. I haven't lettered it to see where it went
