Identify this gun
I hope this is the right place for this, because I want to post the information for my latest acquisition, and I am a brand new member. So please bear with me and respond with what I need to do. I have a 357 Highway Patrolman, no model number, 6 inch barrel, with 5 screws. It has an adjustable rear sight, serial number s-128333. I want to know what year it was made, and what its value might be. It's in very good condition. I appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks so much.

Welcome Steve.... I think 1955 would be the year.
Yours once they assigned model numbers would become the model 28.
It is a fine revolver.

Looks like you posted what you needed just fine.
HP/model 28 values historically lagged behind the more highly finished N frames, but they have gone up in value greatly over the past 2 years or so. If the overall finish condition matches your photo and it is mechanically the same, I would guess this one to be in the $700-750 range. Very nice, enjoy!

S128333
On my list I have three SNs fairly close to yours, all of which shipped in mid-1955. As it is a pre-Model 27 Highway Patrolman, there is more value attached to it than the later Model 27s. I agree with the $700-$750.
