Default Assistance identifying Victory .38 Special

My late father-in-law gave me this piece in the early '80s. Victory S&W 38 Special CTG 4" barrel, black not blue. Bone handle, swivel lanyard, 4 screws showing, 5th likely under grip. Under butt is an "S" on front side of lanyard and V137590 to the rear. Fixed front sight. I would appreciate any help on manufacture date and value estimates would be a bonus. It is in good condition. Thanks in advance.

This is a late Victory model from late in the WW2 years. Value is ALL about condition. You see decent Victory models with the parkerized looking finish for $200-$300.

I suspect the experts will show up with a better mfg date estimate (and better price estimate as well).

And welcome to the forum!

Thanks for your prompt reply. At least I know that it is not a collectible and will just keep it. Far from my favorite handgun but it has my number on the range. One of these days I might actually get a tight group!

Edit the thread's title to include "Victory", so it catches DWalt's attention. He has a great database on serial numbers and will be able to narrow it down for you.
