Default Older K38

I have an older combat master piece K 849XXX 5 screw 4 inch I think it was made between 1950 and 1955. No model number on the yoke. I will post a picture when my wife can help me. I know price depends on condition and the picture will show that.
But what would one in good shape say 85 to 90 percent be?

K 849XXX
K848,782 – K946,391....1969 (manufacture). Are you sure you got the SN correct? Maybe one too many X's?

If it is K 849XX,
K84,150 – K104,047.....1950 (manufacture)
That would be a very early K-38 Combat Masterpiece, and fairly desirable in good condition.

Pictures would help in making a value estimate. Also, it the original box, paperwork, and tools are present.

One problem with the paranoia Xs...often too many are accidentally provided fouling up the process.

I still recall the new guy who asked about his revolver with the serial XXXXXX. Now THAT was helpful.
