From your pics, nice 2" M&P ( 1905 4th change) just had to get that in to make some wince a bit. Ship date? No clue. Just wait TX data guy will be here. Has some finish issues and screws. Nice front sight and grips. Clean it and shoot if its tight and indexes correctly.

The Gun has been refinished,That is for sure.It probably shipped in the mid 1930's.It is chambered in 38 S&W Special,Not .38 S&W.In good all original condition these Guns can bring $3,000+.

Pics are a bit blurry and things do look a bit smeared. Even though, a nice little gun and shooter. Alex is dead on about the price if orig.

I would relish in the fact that I got a great little gun for $250. There are some members selling screws. Im depleted of screws for right now.
Shoot after you fit some screws. And clean her up. No +P ammo.

You did very well at $250.Just search "Smith Wesson Screw" on E-Bay and You will find what you are looking for.

You might want to list where you are. From your posts, I'm think English is not your primary language. I am not familiar with the export laws, but some items cannot be shipped overseas except by someone with an export license. For the finish issues can you purchase Mothers Mag Polish? Use it very gently with a soft cotton rag and it will do a pretty good job on cleaning up that spotty finish. I have no recommendations for screws. Nice gun, snub nose K frames are much fun, and one that early is rather scarce.

It is a fairly uncommon barrel length for a pre-WW II .38 Military & Police; probably no more than a few hundred of these were produced and a few weren't sold until after the war. A factory letter would tell you the specifics of your gun:
Firearm History Request - Smith & Wesson
Some current S & W revolvers have the upper sideplate screw, so if you are able to contact the factory the current screw may fit your gun.

I would look for Flitz metal polish,Not Mothers mag polish.I would also advise You to apply the Flitz with ONLY your Finger and wipe it off lightly with a old white T-Shirt.This is the safest way and You can look at the residue on the Shirt to tell when you have removed all the crud off the bluing.Mothers Mag polish is too abrasive for use on blued Guns in my experience,It's better for polishing Stainless.
