I love those Gold Boxes...Pre 27 3-1/2" Nickel
I was shocked to see three pre-model N frames all with boxes at auction, and this is the one I walked away with. It was the most I've spent for a Smith but it's probably the best I've owned yet. I've learned at a young age that sometimes you have to buy them when you seem 'em, and these nickel 27's don't appear to be floating around these days. This gun appears completely original and would estimate it to be a 1954 production. It has the "N" stamp on the left grip frame, behind the extractor, and next to the serial number in the ejector rod housing. All parts match and the stocks are numbers matching. Correct 3.5" nickel pre 27 box with the tool set. Hopefully you'll all approve!

You are very smart! You have bought the best. In a couple of years, you will have forgotten how much you paid, and will probably think it was a deal!

I'm not fond of shorter barrels than 4" but that 3 1/2" barrel in the world famous s&w nickel finish ROCKS.
MONEY is nothing. Look at what you purchased with it. Can't hold and shoot a dollar bill. A dollar bill will be worth less and less your purchased will gain in value as we speak.
So many don't like nickel guns shame on U. Leave them for me I'll give them a good home.

Fantastic, congrats....!
I love how the blued front sight contrasts with the nickel finish, that is about the most attractive of all the .357 Magnum post war guns...
The box isn't bad either...

Congrats.
Ours share the same vintage.

And yes, they are irresistible when found.
Mine has a scratch on the sideplate making it a mere shooter grade gun...so I shoot and carry it on occasion. That's what I tell myself, anyway.
