Folks:
1. Hand ejector
2.Serial #346XXX
3. K 38 S&W Special CTG
4. 6 inch
5. Fixed Sight
6. 5 screws
Family history says WWI side arm.
Any truth as to dating?
Thanks

I'd say it's a bit too late for WW I. I think the serial number should place it around 1919/1920, but I don't have access to my source materials right now.
It sounds like a standard .38 Military & Police (Model of 1905 - 4th Change, as collectors sometimes refer to these early models).
P.S.: This should be in the Hand Ejector subforum. Maybe a moderator will move it.

Welcome to the Forum. Absalom is correct, 1920 was the ship date.

Welcome to the Forum.
Don't feel bad about the WW I story. Family legend sez that my great, great granddaddy suffered a bullet wound to the stomach during the War of Northern Aggression.
A check of the records revealed he had diarreha.

Back then, one might have been as deadly as the other!

Yes, my only relative that died in the Civil War was one that was kicked in the head by a mule.
