Default Lend lease Victory

Long time lurker but this is my first post. Last weekend at the Atlanta gun show I picked up a Victory that was used by Austrailia. It's in 38 S&W, black park with smooth grips. It's import marked on the left of the frame and on the right it has FTR\MA 54, a crown over 30 and a D^D. SN V939XX Frame, Barrel, Cylinder, Extractor Star and Grip match. Under the Crane and the Crane itself are marked 42227. The grip has WB, the Flaming Bomb and a P.

Trying to find a date of manufacture. I looked thru the Victory database and not a lot listed with 5 digit serial numbers. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. On British weapons FTR = Factory Through Repair. I assume it's the same for Austrailia since they were part of the British empire.

Yes, FTR is Factory Thorough Repair. Your gun was shipped Sept. 15, 1942. Ed.
