Default M&P 1905 .38 Fourth Change Letter

FYI- I want to share the info for those that maintain databases on M&P 1905s. According to Mr. Jinks, my revolver was SHIPPED from S&W on July 17, 1922. SN is 400107. It was delivered to Von Lengerke & Antoine Co., Chicago, IL. This is a 5" barrel, blue finish with checkered walnut non-medallion butt grip 1905.

The letter says the model was produced between 1915 and 1942 between SNs 241000 and 1000000. Those after SN 690000 generally were supplied to support the WWII effort.

That is the gun shop that Al Capone bought most of his legal guns. Nice history.

I have on my list five which have very close SNs - shipping dates run from 3/22 to 9/22. At least surprising to me, many M&Ps I have seen from the early 1920s seem to be found in very good to excellent cosmetic condition, unlike many of those from earlier and later.
