Default M-35/.22, 6" at LGS

LGS moved about 2 miles. Stopped at the new place this afternoon & he showed me a superb M-35. .22 (his ID, not mine) with hardly a line on the cyl. Just took it in. Does have a weak spot on the left front of the barrel just below the site. Std. holster wear indicator. No where else. No grip strap wear & really nice wooden grips. In a soft pistol case, no box or acc. Ask is $500.........

This is far from my cup o' tea........N frames have been what I stuck to since getting into S&W about 10 years ago.

Someone here tell me about this gun.???? how to properly read markings..... current $$$$$$$ go, etc......or is this the wrong section...???

Go back, now, buy it. It won't be there Monday. Hard to find a nice one for less than $800, most are considerably more. I paid $775 for this -1 two years ago and felt very fortunate to get it. Good luck.

Buy it. For a fairly pristine M35, $500 is a great price.

That would be a really good buy on a scarce and desirable revolver. I have about twice that in my pre-35 and it is my FAVORITE gopher gun~~~a great shooter!

Have this gun at home now.........Donna is in Tampa visiting grandchildren ( I guess they will end up with this stuff.??????)...she was really tickled to know the gun made it here. I left it on her place mat in the dining area until she looks it over. She will be here by 9am Tues.

Now I know where all the 35's are. Nice group. I never could understand why S&W did not call it a 6" 34 though. It's the same gun, is it not?
I do have a 2" and 4" 34, plus a 35 I purchased from a member here. Very nice revolvers all.

Good for you!

That was an excellent buy. Is it actually stamped Mod 35 in the yoke?

Those were made on the I frame and later on the J frame. It was introduced as he 22/32 Target Model of 1953 New I Frame.

Now that Donna's home, you'll likely not see it again, unless she wants it cleaned. But oh well, at least it's in the family.

If she turns loose of it long enough, maybe you can post a photo or get the serial # from it and we can estimate it's vintage and the exact version, an I or J frame. If it's a Mod 35 pre dash # it's a New I frame and even more desirable. They were discontinued in 1973. The 2" and 4" 22/32 Kit Gun were mo popular sellers making the 6" kinda scarce now.
