Hope that helps resolve your,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, "issue"

By the way remind her the resale value on all those shoes and purses....... $0

Do you plan to sell the whole collection or just part of it?

The 11 and 33 would be .38 S&W.

If NIB I'd guess $500 to $1000 on average. Probably closer to $1000 or more for some of them. I'd research gunbroker.com or buy a gun values guide if actually interested in selling.

I've had my eye out for a model 16 or 24 for awhile with out any luck. I'm sure you could sell any of those in a day or 2 on this forums classified section if reasonably priced.

Models...
10-8 ...38sp 3" nickel - 500
11 ......38sp 5" blue - see below
14-3 ...38sp 6" blue - 500
16-3 ...32long 6" blue - 2500
24 ......44sp 6 1/2" blue - 750
28-2 ...357 4" blue - 600
28-2 ...357 6" blue - 600
30-1 ...32 4" nickel - 450
33-1 ...38sp 4" blue - 350
37 ......38sp 4" blue - see below
40 ......38sp 2" nickel - see below
60-1 ...38sp 2" stainless - 650
Thank you for the help...
Exact condition and boxes will affect the above estimates.

As noted above, a model 11 would be a .38 S & W, a very rare gun if model stamped.
There are no known factory 4" model 37s.
A first production run model 40 would probably be in the $650 range, a 40-1 less.
Hope this is helpful.

Pretty solid estimate Alan. I'm wondering if the 24 is model marked or is a "pre model".

As a whole collection I'm thinking a good 10 G's.

I agree with murphydog. what I believe you should do is add a 17-3 to the collection for a trio of Masterpieces.

I would sell the whole lot for the right price but would rather keep a few.

Keep in mind what it might cost to replace them in a few years.

BAM-BAM is less than half the value of the set, plus I count 12 guns. You would be talking $6000 - $8000 if sold separately, but if you are not an FFL, there are going to be from 15% to 20% fees to have an FFL sell them for you or selling them through an online gun auction house. If you would settle for less and can legally sell at gun shows in your state, you might get $5000, but it will take you a long time to unload them all.

Should you have to sell any of them, please keep in mind which ones are worth the most, hardest to replace, or you would make the most from selling.

My wife want's me to update the estimated value of my collection every few years, I'm pretty sure it's not for " extra holiday money", and I don't think she is really is interested in vintage S&W's.---- I think it's more along the "estate" lines.

How old did you say you were?

If it's a 4 screw M24 - no dash, it's worth some serious money.

Estate! I have three boys so I keep buying revolvers so someday they can open the safe and divide by three. It's hard work but I keep working at it.

I am an expert and I value your entire collection at $35.75. Please feel free to pass this along to your wife.
