Default Long tube pre 27

One more pre 27 barrel length and finish checked off the list!
It's not a safe queen, but it is in what I'd call excellent shooter condition - just the way I like them. It's all numbers matching, and came with a box (not "the" box), along with some tools and a warranty card.
The trigger is extremely clean and smooth and I'm looking forward to getting this one a little dirty.

I'm sure glad "JVC" didn't scratch his serial number on the gun, only on the medallion washers

Very nice Rick! And to think that there are folks who don't like or appreciate the long tube.

Wink

Very nice find! I find the Model 27 long tubes extremely good shooters. I stumbled across a 357 Bain and Davis cylinder along with brass, dies and loading data at a gun show 20+ years ago. The cylinder dropped right into my 8 3/8" shooter 27. I loaded up the brass and shot the 27. That long tube allowed a good powder burn and high velocities. I've long since sold the cylinder, etc. and don't remember the numbers I got. Sure was fun though!

Nice. I have its twin, S162839. Mine shipped in late January of 1956, and other Pre-27s with nearby serial numbers went out that month and in February. There's a reasonable chance yours shipped around then too.

Good call David. Roy just came back with January 1956 on this one.
