It is a treasure trove of information, including often surprising insight into the thinking behind the ".357" Magnum, and the reaction of the popular and gun press, as well as law enforcement, some of whom thought it would be used to out gun the police of the era. Sound familiar?

That is the first one-word book review that I have ever read.
Can you expand on that a bit?

Once upon a time----1934 (??) D.B. ("Hisself") started a scrapbook. It appears to deal with his interaction with various and sundry of the big names of guns, ammo, shooting of the period---ending in 1939 (??). It appears also to deal (rather significantly) with the coming and arrival of the .357 Magnum. As is common with scrapbooks, it is LOADED with photographs. As it stands right now, it is believed to be the only such scrapbook he kept.
It is my understanding it came to light in truly sorry condition. It was (EXPERTLY) restored (compliments of Dave Ballantyne) for the benefit of the S&W Historical Foundation, subsequently reproduced, and made available to all comers----also to benefit the Foundation.
From one who has yet to read the first word in it, it is mind boggling!! It figures to get better after I stop looking at the pictures, and start reading the words.

Actually, it was not my objective to teach you anything----only to alert you to the opportunity to learn----and to entice you to do so.
Damn shame I failed.
Oh well!!

I sent $39 to Dave Ballantyne, 26712 Raphis Royale Blvd., Englewood, FL 34223. As I understand it, it is also available from S&W Historical Foundation.
I sent $39 as a SWHF Member. As a non-member, I would've sent $50.

And the Foundation's address is PO Box 1494, Great Bend, KS 67530
