Hold on a minute here!! Kris, when you say shooters are you talking about worn veterans that go to the range often or like many shown so far, that are way - way above what would normally be considered shooter grade guns??? Most of those I see so far are safe queens if they were in my collection!

Here are some of my K frame shooters - Models 1899, 1902, 1905.

I have several K frames that are shooters but only two are photographed. I've posted these before but would like to play. Here's a Md 16-4 that I shoot, but not often. By the way, I swapped (and kept) the OEM square butt combats for the targets you see here. The K frame I shoot the most is this Md 15-4.

Md 16-4, .32 Magnum

Ours are not old or fancy but are definitely shooters.

K frames have a reputation as good shooters. These don't disappoint.

I don't get out to shoot very often any more but these have probably been shot the most: K-22 & K-38 made in my birth year(1950), a .38 combat masterpiece(1952), an early 50s 5" M&P and a 2 7/8" 64 that began life as a 4" sq butt. lee

Sorry for the ****** photo. It's all I had on this device though. This is a 1981 Model 66 serial numbered to the Florida Highway Patrol. Hence the FHP numbering on the left side. I inherited it from a family member along with about a half dozen other Smiths. This one had seen very little use but a lot of carry and, unfortunately, a lot of sweaty holster time. Even though it was stainless the pitting was deep enough that it wasn't repairable so I opted to build a copy of a gun I had seen several years ago. Cerakote OD green with Armorer black accents took care of the appearance but I did not grind or otherwise remove the pitting. It adds character in my opinion and I'll never sell the gun so I couldn't give a hoot about what it does to the value. The only other modifications were honing the internals, polishing the trigger face smooth and installing a slightly lighter main spring. She's a tack driver and gets a lot of attention at the range from people that aren't used to seeing very many revolvers anyway. To me it's the very definition of a shooter.

My three K frame shooters I like. Left to right: 1972 Model
67 with a trigger job. Paid $300 for it about 5 years ago. Very
accurate. Next one is a 1949 K-22, all original. Last one is
a 1947 Pre-model 10, all original.

They are all shooters - unless the gun is busted. In that case, repair it so it works.

I'm a little late to the party, but I don't mind bumping up this great thread
I mostly shoot N-frames, but there is nothing more fun and relaxing than shooting a K22. They are also great for working on your trigger control.

This one is my favorite to shoot. It's a later 3 digit LERK that I was very happy to find with some help here on the Forum

This September 1950 Pre 18 is also tops on my list for plinking. I also shoot it when my gun club has .22 steel plate matches.
