Default Recently acquired K22

Hello all! I am new to this forum and have a few revolvers that I need help dating. The first one that I have is a Hand ejector K22.
Ser# 186xxx
Recessed cylinder with same ser. #
Pinned 4" Barrel
4 line address
5 Screw
Crane# X 70207
Yolk# 70207
Rear adjustable sight
Blade front sight

I am also in need of some correct year wood grips for this revolver. If you have a decent set, please message me or direct me in the right direction to acquire some.

The second revolver will be in another part of the forum (newer model .357)

Thanks in advance. I'll try to get some pics up later, it is in need of a good cleaning.

Welcome to the forum!!! The K-22 Combat Masterpiece is one of my very favorites. We look forward to your photos. The SN on the butt should also have a "K" on it to the left of the numbers. The "K" is part of the SN.

As to grips/stocks they were probably diamond magnas that look something like the ones on these Masterpieces (with a less abrupt "shoulder"):

You can find sets on eBay or put a WTB ad in the wanted to by section of the classifieds on the forum.

Welcome to this forum!

Your "K22 Combat Masterpiece" # K186XXX is likely from the 1st half of 1953.

However no guarantee because they did not ship exactly in serial # order, only generally, and occasionally in some cases not even that.

Enjoy!

K175,638 – K210,095...1953 (manufacture). While it likely shipped in 1953, it's possible that it didn't leave the factory until later. The K prefix is an essential part of the serial number. In 1953, the grips that came with it were likely rounded-shoulder Magnas with diamonds around the screw holes. But sharp shoulder Magnas are also a possibility. If you find a nice pair of those, I think they look better. You also might want to dress it up a little with a pair of K-frame target stocks. eBay is always a good place to look.

Welcome aboard from Pennsylvania.
The K22 is a piece of artwork in metal and wood.
One like yours from the '50's should present a very high level of craftsmanship and pride in manufacture. Enjoy and care for it.
