Grail K-22
I misfired on a most interesting shooter Victory Model earlier this month so I sprang for a shooter .22 I've long wanted. It's a post-war K-22, sn K2762 (I'm guessing it shipped in early to mid '47).
The seller's dad bought the gun new, and he (seller) first learned to shoot with this one. Not sure how I'm lucky enough to come by it, but I'm a happy guy. Photos to follow when I get it in hand and cleaned up in a few days.

Oooh! Single line address on the right side of the frame? If so, that is definitely a bump in desirability, along with the 4 digit serial, all other (condition) things equal. Let me be the first to ask for pictures
edit: I see you already promised the pics. We will hold you to it!

Yes, single-liner, and the sn matches in all the right places, grips, too.

On my list is K26xx which shipped in 8/47. Yours should also have the barrel-shaped extractor rod knob which some refer to as a LERK. Such early K22s are to be prized.

I have K49725 (1948) and it's one of my favorites to shoot. They produced real quality back then. (Not to say they still don't)

Ok, paragain, this one's for you...
Busted, gold mining ghost town humor.
Spent three hours just cleaning last night. The action is a dream, but the finish needs more help. I went to town this morning for bronze wool to go along with my BreakFree as Hondo44 recommended in a great post earlier this week (Thanks, Jim, for the detailed cleaning procedures). None of the (3) hardware stores in town carry the bronze wool, but my local -- the one I always use -- ordered it for me. Be here in a week so I can finish my work and take a few more photos then.
Cheers,
Bob
