Default Date a K-38 Combat Masterpiece

I had picked up this K-38 some time ago and it is time to get some information. Can anyone date it for me? It is a great shooter and has normal wear and I love it! I could not pass it up since I don't see too many. All matching numbers to boot. K 87397
Thanks to everyone! MET

The closest SN I have listed to K 87397 is K 867xx which shipped in 6/1950. The manufacturing SN range for 1950 production is K84,150 – K104,047

Yours is a relatively early K-38 Combat Masterpiece.

Nice fairly early example,
Can you post a pic that shows the front site and whole gun ?

Sweet. It's almost unnecessary to say a Combat Masterpiece is "a great shooter"--they just seem to be.

IMO made within the first full 12 months of production so a true "First Year" gun .

Thanks for all the info and kind words guys. Here a few more pics with the front sight included. There is wear on the end and the front sight also but I guess we all have wear after that long of a time. I have seen nicer ones on GB but to run into one and get to handle it just a great feeling! MET
