My M13 Aircrewman Revolover
My grandfather purchase a barrel full of these demills in 1963 for 50 cents each, and gave them out to friends, customers, and kids in our family. Here is mine that I've had since that time. A friend located and gave me the holster in these photos about 4 years ago, after learning that I owned this revolver.

Gosh, it pains me to see such a neat gun crushed that way.

Just think of all of the revenue that could be generated by selling these instead of crushing them.

Officials approving such waste should have been indicted for theft of public funds. It's always easier to piss away someone else's money, here we taxpayers.

Sickening. I will never understand the stupidity that drives such decisions.
Neat to have one though.

Living close to Robins Air Force Base, we have a chance to see one of these guns from time to time. There is a LGS here that has one in the safe. . .they have had it for many years. It is not crushed and is fully functional. One that survived I guess. Not a very attractive gun. It has some damage if I remember correctly.

...and some were restored with salvaged parts!
This one is made up with parts from six different guns. The only original part is the uncut frame. Haven't had the guts to shoot it.

GB, does it have a steel cylinder? If so, I'd shoot it. If it has an aluminum cylinder, NO WAY!!

Tom. . .great job putting together a rare gun. I'd be willing to bet that 99% of would not be able to tell it from the original.

They should have replaced the cylinders and put them back into service.

Although Tom did a fine job, these guns have many markings and traits to look for to determine if parts are original. For one, for many of these, the parts are serial numbered together. Even then, there were serialed parts and assembly numbered parts to check for.

This is a good idea, but due to failures of the frame and cylinder, this solution would not have worked.

Hey, at least it's all there! Most were torch cut and generally the whole front half is missing. By the way, I don't know whether or not you noticed it, but you're starting to get a little surface rust forming on it. I believe it'll still clean up nicely! Holster could use a little leather conditioner too. Just sayin'..........

What would one of those be worth, still in working condition and assuming all original parts?

Uh oh, this is how the obsession starts .
Probably $800-1000 as a basement price, higher for original finish (this was fragile on the Airweight guns too, in addition to the metal).

I don't see an Aircrewman in good cosmetic and mechanical condition selling for under 3K.

This is one picture of the gun I'm looking at:
Looks like original finish to me.
Think I can get for under $1k.
