Default .22/.32 box from around 1928

Wondering if anyone has a .22/.32 Heavy Frame Target maroon hinge box from around 1928? I am wondering what the end label looked like during that time frame. Please post photos if you own any .22/.32 HFT box, but specifically looking for one from 1928ish.

Here is #390981. I have not lettered it, but it shipped June, 1926. I have been wondering if the HFT designation (inside lid) was used until the introduction of the Outdoorsman?

Bob,

That's correct, renamed just 22/32 Target.

James:

One recently sold on eBay - pretty rough shape, but one of the few I've ever seen for sale:

Smith & Wesson Pre War .22/32 Heavy Frame Target Maroon Display Box Bekeart WOW! | eBay

It needed an end label...

S&W Trivia: A 22/32 HFT just sold on Gun Broker for $5,131.00 , with a S&W box that had a Phil Bekeart label. It was ser. # 136226, the first 22/32 HFT made, but was not shipped to Bekeart, but to a New York City distributor, as I recall. I owned the gun 65 yrs. ago, or so, and asked Carl Hellstrom where it was shipped. Some where along it's life someone put it in a Phil Bekeart box but the gun never saw Bekeart. The lowest serial number of the 292 guns first shipped to Bekeart was 138227. As we know, Phil Bekaert ordered 1,000 22/32s in 1911. S&W made 1050 Blue 22/32s starting in Apr. 1911. Ser. #s 136226 to 139275 in Dec. 1911. Ed.
