Default 38 Spl M&P Manufacture Date

Hello,

I acquired a 38 special, what I believe to be a M&P CTG. I think it is pre 1950. The serial # is 828995.

I am trying to find out when it was made or anything else out there about the gun so I can list on GunBroker.

Thanks for the help in advance.

If there is no prefix in front of the serial, it would be an M&P from late 1941. For additional input we'd need to see some pictures.

I seem to see an H above the serial # when I pop out the cylinder...I will post the gun on GunBroker tomorrow and reply here with a link and see if you can provide additional information after viewing the listing. I can't seem to find a way to attach photos here.

Thanks again.

Posting links to a live auction is a no-no on this forum.

If you got the number when you open the cylinder, unless it is a very recent model, that's not the serial, but an assembly number. The relevant serial is found on the butt of the grip.
