Triple Lock Info
Came across a Triple Lock recently (.44 S) which is double action only. Were any made this way or has somebody messed with the innards (serial #11XXX)?

I never like to say never so I'll just say it's highly unlikely. I have not heard of any DA only TLs from the factory or any other pre war models.
So as you questioned, probably done after market, worn, or messed with.
TL hammers and triggers are unique to the TL, not easy to find, and not cheap if you do.

Probably messed with. This was a more common practice than most people realize, especially in the late 1800's when the 1878 Colt DAA came out. Double action was like a semi auto today. . .why would you ever want to even think about needing to touch the hammer. I have an old gunfighter's Colt. He took out the single action. Then he ground off the heads of the screws so nobody could ever again get inside his gun. That includes me! I've been tempted for years to drill out the screws, but what a job that would be. Decided not to mess with history.

Wow, I wish I could. Don't have a drill press and don't have replacement screws. He even ground the trigger guard screw. It does have a nice double action though.
