PRE MODEL 29 HAND NEEDED
I have a Pre Model 29, that needs a larger hand to fix the timing, it is slow. The hand in it now is 0.091, I need a 0.094'ish one to fix the timing. I also need a extractor rod for the same revolver. The gun is blued.
Any help in finding these parts will be appreciated, the serial number is S1659XX.

You are mighty lucky to have a .091 original hand. Usually, .093 & .094 hands are take outs that need to be replaced.
I just happen to have what I believe to be an N frame .094 hand that I will ship to you. Please send me a mailing address by PM and I will get it in the mail asap. If you find it does not fit, please send it back. :-)

Just a related question. For Colt revolvers, the standard fix for a worn short hand is "stretching" it using a blunt punch. Yet I have not ever seen any reference to doing that with a short S&W hand. Has that ever been tried?

S&W Hands require thicker not longer as with the Colt system.

My complete name is Robert G. Bartley II
My address is 23421 NW 3 Avenue, Newberry FL 32669
And thank you in advance for the part, I WILL send it back if it doesn't work. Any thoughts on the extractor rod?? the one in this gun was damaged by a pair of pliers somewhere during it life. I think GunParts may have some, just checking with you first. And I would be willing to pay for some of the parts as needed.

I don't have any extractor rods at all, let along one with right hand threads. If you can't find it at Jack First, or GunParts corp, try the wanted to buy section here. You never know!
For now, can you stone it round then add some cold blue. It won't be perfect, but it will be less obvious.
I'll get the hand in the mail tomorrow.
