Default First Smith with a barrel longer than.........

............five inches, and wearing adjustable sights I have bought in a long time. Thought I would give this one a try.

Its about the same age I am, but even with the use marks it still looks a lot better.

So are you going to shoot all that vintage ammo with the vintage gun? Love the photo and the gun.

Thanks for sharing,

Default Shot the bucket.................

.........was down on the back side of our place, spied this old rusty bucket, and since there were no yotes out for a sundown stroll thought I would try this old Outdoorsman out, six rounds from about 15 yds., two holes, that will work ok for me.

Awesome revolver in what looks like its in excellent condition. My longest barreled S&W is a Model 17-4 with a 8 3/8 inch barrel and it's also my most accurate S&W revolver.

Default 38/44s

The best, most accurate gun that I own is a 1953 Outdoorsman shown on the bottom wearing non relieved target grips for better control. It's spot on dead accurate!

The top is a NIB Outdoorsman that I was lucky enough to run across last month at a gun show, and of course the middle is a "like new" Heavy Duty.

I'm drawn to these 38/44s more than the pre-27s for some reason.

Me too RGM 36. Its kinda like shooting a .22 out of those old Heavies.
You have some great examples.

This is my first Outdoorsman, been mostly HDs up until now.
Thank you Bill for infecting me with 38-44 fever.
