Welcome to the forum. Are there any letters in front of the serial number? Is it a 5 or 6 shot?

More info needed. Is it .38 SW or .38 Special? (Not the same) Is there a 5th screw hidden under the grips? Is there an extraction rod retainer under the barrel near the front sight? Pictures would be very helpful. If you are new to the forum, figuring out how to attach photos is a bit painful, but once you get the hang of it no big deal. Check here for instructions
