Default ...finally home...my 1905 Target...

...won this one on Gun Broker...due to the holidays it took three weeks to get it home...1905 fourth change target...serial# 4958xx ...1925 I believe...really nice k frame to go with my J frame 36 no dash and N frame 29-3...the photos are from the auction...the blue cast is from being taken outdoors I believe...reflection of blue sky...I really like it...I think I'm getting hooked on the prewar revolvers...especially target models...

Nice looking 1905. You know, I really like those 1920's non medallion stocks... not sure why, but they just look classy to me. Good find.

Prewar targets get addictive. Wait until the King sights bug comes too.

Your might as well go out and find a nice K 22 Outdoorsman to pair it up with.

And a .32-20 Target.

Prewar K frame triplets - .22, .32 and .38

Classic hand guns are just good looking! Almost art with a function. Very nice.

Nice pre-war .38, its in great shape for its age if the stocks are original. I think you have the rear "U" notch sight and bead front, it's a harder combo to find. I like the sight picture it gives, Larry

...I really like the bead and u notch sights also...there was an auction photo showing the serial number on the inside of the right grip in pencil...

Paradise Road, nice score. Here is an M&P Target Model that is just shy of it's 90th birthday and it's younger brother in .22. The .38 shipped to an individual in Seligman AZ but he has a common last name and I only have the first two initials and I have been unable to find out anything about him.

I have a nice 1905 4th change like yours. Target model.

It was one of the first S&W revolvers that I purchased. I later found out that the * after the serial number meant that it had been worked on by S&W. With help from forum members, it was determined that it had been reblued by S&W around 1947. That was the wake up call that told me that I needed to be careful with S&W purchases. LOL. Fortunately, I made out o.k. on the deal.
