Sw k.32
I have the k.32 and was wondering how many members have one. If so do you shoot it or is it a safe queen? I shoot mine and enjoy it a lot. The Sw .32 long is a most enjoyable round to shoot and wish it there were more guns chambered for it.

I have one K-32 that dates to 1954. I've shot it a couple of times, however it sits in the safe most of the time.

I just have the 16-4, much more plentiful and less expensive, but do appreciate the 32 S&W Long. I have 5 other I and J Frames using that round. It is so enjoyable to shoot and very accurate.

I have a K32 Masterpiece that shipped April 11, 1956. It's a beauty and lives in its original box. I've shot it a couple of times and have no qualms about shooting it.
On the other hand, I have a marvelous 32-20 HE Target. This revolver seems to have adopted me. It stays in my range bag and gets shot fairly often. The way I load for it, there is very little difference in its ballistics and a .32 Long.
One way or the other, a K-frame .32 is a wonderful revolver to have and to shoot. They shouldn't be relegated to the gun safe.
Here's my 32-20 HE Target at the range with my Model 1892 chambered in .32-20:

I have one that shipped in 1955, same as me...it was rode hard and put up wet, so yes, I shoot it....thinking of sending it to Ford's for restoration. And I'd still probably shoot it...I have half a dozen or more 32s, both short and long I love shooting them.

Here is a pair of 4" K-32's. One is an early 5-screw, and the other is a 4-screw.
Here is a pair of consecutively numbered 4" K-32 long revolvers from 1910.
This next picture is a set of post-WW2 32 M&P's. They letter as .38 M&P's chambered in 32 long. They were a special order for the Shanghai Police.
These next two pictures are a pair of K-32's delivered to Springfield PD in April of 1938. They were identical revolvers, shipped with humpback hammers and wood grips. They both have Roper stocks, but they are not the same pattern.
These next three pictures are the first post-WW2 K-32 to be completed in the production of this model, with an interesting history. After it was built, it was assigned to the sales department on March 30, 1948, to be used as a display model in the sales department show case, as a blued revolver. On May 3 1949 it was returned to manufacturing, to have the finish changed to nickel, to fill the special order from Leacock Sporting Goods of St Louis, Missouri. It was shipped to Leacock on May 26, 1949.

The two 4" K-32 revolvers flabbergast me! Do we know how many of those were actually made? The Standard Catalog says there were only 10 made in 1949. That would not account for any four screw guns, unless yours was one of the handful made in 1959.
Could you enlighten us more on this matter? Thanks!

The 5-screw is 1949, and the order was for 10 4" K-32's. I would assume there were other orders for 4" K-32's, which would mean that there is more than 10 of these 5-screw early post-WW2 4" K-32's. The 4 screw is from 1954, and it seems like Jim Fisher has one of these from the same order. I recall him saying that the order was for 5 of these guns.
The pair from 1910 are serial-numbered in the 32-20 series, and they are a pair ordered by a shooter in St Louis. One of the two went to him, and the other went to another shooter in St Louis. The factory did make several special groups of these 32-20's chambered in 32 long. Typically the groups were about 10 guns. Jim Fisher has one from a group made in 1916, and I'm aware of one other one, made maybe 1915. One characteristic of all of these special chambering 32-20's is that they do not have any caliber roll marking.
There is another group of interesting post-WW2 K-32's. There was a reasonably sized order for K-32's with fixed sights, for I think the Shanghai Police. The guns are in 2", 4", and 5" barrels. I'm trying to find the picture of the three I have. Ray Brazille, RIP, told me that he once had a 6" gun, but I've never seen one. I'll post the picture when I find it.
Regards, Mike

Very helpful reply. Thanks very much.
Info now on file for future reference.
I'd love to see photos of the fixed sight variation when you find them.

I shoot my pre model 16 5 screw that was made in 1952, and my 16-3. I have a 16-2 in the box that is new or near new that I do not shoot. Also have a 16-4 but that's not a real K-32 in my opinion.
The 32 S&W Long is a very inherently accurate cartridge and easy to reload.

Thanks, Mike! Beautiful!
I also like the prewar (1938) .32 target guns. Very, very nice!
Added: I assume the three .32 M&P revolvers bear C prefix serial numbers?

From what I can tell, the three 32 M&P's were over-runs from the Shanghai contract.
That is probably why they are in such good condition.
There are two c-series guns, and one S-series gun, as follows:
2-inch: S998XXX shipped 8/12/1949 Fishmans Sporting Goods, Springfield, Ill
4-inch: C69XXX shipped 8/12/1949 Fishmans Sporting Goods, Springfield, Ill
5-inch: C55XXX shipped 10/11/1949 Charleston Hdw, Charleston, W Va
Curious, eh ?

Yeah this pretty much sums it up. A 4" would top my list, but I'd be happy with any one I'm any condition.

Nice "K" pictures! I am 63, and have to date never fired a 32 revolver. I feel I am missing something! You never see them at our range. If someone had 1, I am sure they would let me try it. Bob
