Default DOB on a .32 "I" frame

Nickel plated # 507217 anyone have a year of birth please?

S&W .32 Long HE 3 ¼” nickel, # 512621, shipped in April 1938.

You cannot "age" this era 32 Hand Ejector accurately. Many models are sold pretty much in order, but when the factory had large inventories, the sequencing by year and serial number went out the window. That is what must have happened to the I frame. Here are some examples:

434XXX - 1926
450XXX - 1941
504XXX - 1941
513XXX - 1929
520XXX - 1931
521XXX - 1948
522XXX - 1941

A similar situation exists with the last few years of production on the K frame .32-20 HE. Production stopped in c. 1929 but examples were shipping for a decade after that. There is evidence one didn't ship until 1965!
