Default NMM four screw K-38 value?

Hi all, I need a value on a non model marked four screw K-38. A friend of mine has it and I know a fellow forum member who should want it. Condition is very good, no box or papers all matching numbers and period correct stocks but not sure right now if numbered to the revolver. No pic's so I know it's very difficult to assign a value but a "ball park" number would do. I'm not up to speed on current values these days. I'm thinking around $600.00. I want to get a starting point here as the owner really does not know what a fair price would be. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!

$600 + or 1 depending on condition sounds about right where I shop.

I'll agree with 22HP's estimate (as does SCSW4), assuming that the K38 is a 1902 model; the 5th screw was added in 1905.

Post-war M&P's lost their 5th screw sometime after 1957 at which time they were (supposed to be) stamped as Model 10's. SCSW4 shows M10's in VG condition at around $350 with no mention of a premium for the 4-screw variety. -S2
