Default Pre 29 presentation case?

Gentlemen, I'm purchasing a 1957 pre 29 44 magnum and this presentation case is being offered with the gun. I'm wondering if it is original and doubting that it is. Can someone confirm this? If it is the correct case what is approximate value? If this is not correct what is it for? Thanks....

It's nice, but not original (mid 1970's vintage case). The original would have looked something like this:

BTW: the swab and the brush in my photo are newer than the case, but the case, rod and SAT are correct for a 4-screw pre-29.

If that's a clamshell case it's older than mid 70s. I can't tell from the one pic, but it appears to be a clamshell.

The case shown in your post was introduced in 1975 and phased out in 1979.
