Default Georgia State Patrol Guns

Guys, Some of you may have seen post from me before asking for information or just a wanted post about GSP guns. I've been hard at it for more than 2 years now and have had some luck. Just today I scored probably my most exciting find yet. Even though it was one of those dreadful guns with horses on them!

What I once thought was going to be a short list has quickly turned into a long list of guns to collect. I set out about 4 years ago with the goal of collecting one of each gun carried by the patrol. The more I dig the more guns I find... I know, I know, what a shame, I have to find more guns! Anyway, I thought I would share what I have so far, even if several aren't S&W's. Mods, please forgive me if this is posted in the wrong forum as I have several examples that could cover multiple forums.

We'll go by order of issued.

My oldest so far is my latest acquisition that I paid way too much for, but I had never seen one issued by the Dept, much less for sale.

A Colt Official Police .38 Special, I know so far it dates to 1952. Its marked on the grip frame with badge # 135.

Next is a Pre-28 Highway Patrolmen stamped GSP on the frame. A Model 66 and Last the 50th Anniversary Commemorative model 26 that I'm sure you are all aware of.

I also have two Model 5903's one which is from the first run ordered and is mis marked 459; a 4506 as well as the Glock 22, 37, and 39 that I carried before we transitioned to 9mm.

Enjoy!

You need one of the commemorative S&W 26 .45 revolvers.

Never mind, I see it now.

We transitioned from the Glock 37 and 39 to Glock 17 and 43 about 2 years ago
