You had me with the very first pair... classic Ropers without the thumbrest... a set of which would be very near the top of my bucket list (preferably on a late '40s K-32!). I seem to see a lot more examples WITH thumbrest than without. Is this because of the style of the day or because they were so often intended for target guns? Regardless, this was a great post, George. Thank you for sharing.

The sights on that Colt have to be some of the weirdest sights I've ever seen on a pistol.
