If the serial number is correct at K23929, then according to the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson your revolver was made very soon after the introduction of this model, possibly 1948-49. I'm not an expert and others may offer more correct information, but I believe this to be a K-22 Masterpiece (postwar, 3rd Model - "Pre-Model 17." The other number is an assembly number and irrelevant after production. I can't open your picture, so can't tell much about condition. If indeed 90% (looks better in the thumbnail) and not refinished, it is quite valuable. There is some reduction in value without the original grips. The catalog lists the value as $800 in very good condition, again assuming it has not been refinished. The $800 figure assumes original grips, which you might be able to locate on various auction online sources.
Close up clear pictures of both sides of the revolver will help the experts here tell you more about your gun and probably correct my assumptions.

Closest I list to SN K 23929 is K 233xx shipping in 5/48. Definitely in the 1948 manufacturing range.
Does it have the original box, tools and paperwork? That would add considerable value. Otherwise, I'd say $700-$800 retail.

Those wooden grips in post #4 are newer than the revolver. The originals would have had an uncheckered diamond shaped area around the stock screw. These "diamond" grips were discontinued in 1968 and replaced with the style in your picture.

Here's my original condition K22 #340XX in the foreground. Showing the aforementioned diamond shaped area around the grip screw.

Well there's period correct stocks (grips) and original stocks. Being serialized, the chances of mating the true originals up to this gun are highly remote as they are probably in a dusty corner of someone's shop, on another gun, or in a landfill right now.
Period correct is pretty easy to replicate, but you'll never quite be *original* if it shipped with numbered stocks. If the gun is yours for life, put grips you like on there and don't worry about it.
