What is the premium for a pre-27 over a 27-2
Everything else being equal (barrel length, no box, grips number to frame, excellent condition), what is the premium in the market for a pre-27 over the same 27-2.
Not in the market to buy or sell either, but very curious and this is the place to ask.

I'd say 20-30%.

Condition is everything. I would agree with Muley Gil if we are looking at 90% condition pieces. If we are talking about 80% condition or less prices IMHO would be about the same. 98 to 99% condition in the box with the correct stocks and tools might be more in the 50% premium.

For me, condition being equal, I'd still be willing to pay 25 - 30% more for any pre model as Muley Gil stated.

Week before last I sold a Pre absolutely NIB with all papers and tools for 4K. If someone on here has seen a 27 sell recently, they can give the other end of the spectrum. Maybe Fat Tom? Leatherhead?

When comparing values of two guns in equal condition, I think Oldk22 summed it up quite nicely. The higher the condition, the greater the disparity in value. And, it just stands to reason that finding a 27-2 ANIB is going to be a lot easier than finding the same in a pre 27.
