Hand Ejector 32 cal.. Help me identify it?
I'm have trouble finding info on this one.. Barrel is marked 32 long CTS Patent date on the stocks is June 5th 1917 Serial Number is 3806xx six shot revolver. 4" barrel thats from the frame to end of barrel.. if I include the cone it adds about a 1/4" so 4 1/4"
Can someone help me with which model it is and when it may have been made? Any idea on value? Its been in my family all of my life.
Also is it safe to shoot these day?
Thanks for looking!!

Welcome to the Forum.
You have a .32 Regulation Police. It dates in the mid 1922-late 1920s time frame. It looks safe to shoot, but you might want to have it looked over by a gunsmith.
I'd value it at $300-375, depending on your location. The correct barrel length is 4 1/4", measured from the front of the cylinder to the end of the barrel.

You have a Regulation Police model . Someone will come along with a more precise version or model variety. I have several of these and if it seems mechanically ok, shoot the heck out of it. They are very accurate and easy to shoot. Ammo isn't too hard to find, 32 s&w long is easiest. You can find it online at most places that sell ammo. It looks like it's in pretty nice shape.

Yes, you have a .32 Regulation Police (also available chambered in .38 S&W, but with a different serial number range). The closest I have to SN 3806xx on my list is 3803xx which shipped in 9/1923. It is safe to shoot, but the .32 S&W Long cartridge is a little difficult to find, but available.

As Muley Gil stated, you have a .32 Regulation Police revolver. The key identifying feature that distinguishes it from the .32 Hand Ejector Model is the location of the serial number on the front strap of the grip frame.
Based on the style of stocks, the presence of the Made in U.S.A stamp and the style of extractor rod knob, we can estimate the year of production to be in the 1922-1927 period. Based on the serial number, I would estimate it is the first half of that period.

Thanks everyone... Great info. And I'm amazed how quickly you guys got back to me.
I have a couple of boxes of 32 long S&W ammo. I wanted to make sure that was correct before I shot it.
Thanks Again!!!
