Model 10 No Dash, P.D. Montgomery, AL
Acquired this 2" barrel revolver today. Serial number dates it to 1960. It appears the legend across the back strap, P.D. Montgomery, is factory inscribed, and I believe it is a rack number of 174 on the left side of the frame.
It does show some wear and most likely holster wear. The serial number on the inside of the right stock/grip does match the butt serial number.
Here are the required pictures.

Your revolver has character ; it is very nice indeed. Nice detail in the photos , especially the first one.
Congratulations on your snub 10 acquisition.

Excellent!
I would far prefer to own that gun than a NIB example.

Cool. Marked snubs aren't that common. A full name instead of an acronym that leaves you guessing is even better. You'd need a letter to confirm a factory inscription, although probability is against that. They were much more commonly department-applied, and while this one is neatly applied, it does not look as even as you'd expect a factory rollmark to be.

I saw that one online @ G.S.D. Very nice catch!! Were you able to go over and pick it up?
Best,
Charles
P.S.,
That is the correct marking for Montgomery PD BTW.

Sweet! I was following that one on GSD too! I would have bid on it if I didn't just pick up something else. I have picked up some good stuff from GSD!

You see very few no dash model 10's floating around. Of the hundreds of 10's on GunBroker you may see one or two no dash models, tops. I have a 4 screw, 5" with matching number diamond magnas which is not terribly common. I would imagine a department marked snubby would send a lot of guys over the edge. Gotta love those old ones.

Charles and Glashaus, I went over and picked it up. I have bought a lot of firearms from GSD since they are only about 50 miles from my place. I do have to pay 10% sales tax but no shipping or FFL cost.
