Howdy,

Any of you knowledgeable folks out there able to approximate the ship date of a Model 36, serial # 262XXX? My LGS just listed it .... I think it might be as old as I am.

Likely manufactured in 1961, and could have shipped in 1962.

Thanks. 1961 is the year. Went to check out the gun and it has quite a few rusty scratches (worst condition S&W I've seen at the LGS) and is way over-priced for that condition ($499) ... so the quest continues ...
