I paid $850 for my 4 digit LERK in 2010 at the Reno gun show. It is a good 98% and 100% matching. $1,000 today, with no box, papers or SAT may well be a good price. Sometimes these revolvers are hard to find as they had a low production number. Make sure the stocks are numbered to the gun. Big Larry

If it is 98% it worth a grand in my opinion. I paid $1400 for one with the original box last year - no tools.

Remember that there can be a big difference in a 99%+ and a say 95% or so. I sold a 99%+all matching a couple of years ago for $2000. I recently bought a 95% all matching on GB for $890. No boxes were in these deals.
This one sold the other day at what I thought was a really good price.

Agree with the above posts. The one that sold the other day at $1,400 was cheap in my opinion. A complete package box, tools, helpful hints, 3-digit in 99% is worth $2,000-2,750 based upon completed auctions. A LERK in 90-95% is worth $1,000+ in my opinion. A K-22 Box is basically $150 these days. So just start adding $ for add-ons and condition.

Yes, its worth that much easily. If you read the posts, the values don't add up and they never have. The box may be worth $150 (unless you don't understand how an old piece of cardboard can be that valuable.) But combined with the gun suddenly its worth $400 or so. And then you need to ask when the last time you saw a box for sale by itself. They're like magnets and attract to guns because the package is so much in demand.

There was a time when we trashed others for buying the packages and separating them. These days that might have reversed itself.

I sold a 98% first model Outdoorsman to a "former" buyer here on the forum about 2 years ago. He was a regular purchaser in the For Sale section until Handejector, thankfully, changed the rules about buying and flipping. (I think he was the reason changes were made). He would buy many of the guns posted within minutes of them posting and resale on Gunbroker months later. One of these he sold on GB was the OD I sold him in its 98% original red box. About 6 months ago I was going through GB and came across the gun for auction. He stated the gun came with the original numbered box, but the box in the picture was neither numbered or the original box because I had pics off the box still and it wasn't even close. The box in the auction was probably 60% condition. I emailed him about it and he blamed someone that helped him with auctions for mixing it up, but he never changed the description. Plus he never mentioned the one bad spot on it that kept it from being 100%. So someone paid ALOT of money for a gun with what they were told was the original box but isn't. I have a feeling he still has that original box or sold it separately for big money. He still sells a lot on GB with great feedback so he's doing something right. But I haven't seen him here since the new buying rules went into effect.

I'd say yes.

I have a K-22 Masterpiece (LERK) that is in good condition that I would ask more than $1000 for it if I wanted to sell it. I bought it a long time ago.

I consider value on the correct box and original numbered box to be different.
Would I pay a premium for a correct box? Yes.

But the original box is much more valuable on a total package to me. Especially pre war.

A lot of people are reselling as original when they know its likely not.

I have never seen it on these forums. I have assimilated many cool revolvers via this site without going to the "~other internet".

Yes, my K-22 Lerk came from a very trusted S&WCA member.

My second K-22 Masterpiece (not a lerk) also came from a SWCA member:

I am always interested in post WW2 revolvers in good condition (box or not).

I would agree not on here. We got a great group. Its mostly a online auction thing.

Some of the time if you really read the wording you can tell some are riding the line. Statements like comes with the box. Technically they did not say its original so no fowl but most savvy gun guys know about grease penciled boxes.
